Printers > Manage a print queue

Managing a print queue

The print queue lists the items that are waiting to be printed. For each item on the list, the Windows Print Manager displays information, such as the print status and number of pages.

Some printer management operations can be performed from the print queue. For example you can cancel the printing of all documents that are waiting to be printed. You can also pause and resume operation of the printer.

To manage a print queue

  1. From the left-hand pane, choose Picture of the Printers icon Printers, All Printers.

  2. From the right-hand pane, right-click the printer and from the menu, choose Manage Print Queue.

  3. The Windows Printer Manager is displayed, allowing you to perform tasks including pausing, resuming or cancelling print jobs.

  4. To close the Windows Printer Manager, from the Print menu choose Close.
